2008-2011 Sharq Dijlah Water Filtration Project

The Sharq Dijlah Water Project is the largest governmental water treatment endeavor in Iraq, treating water for nearly half of the city of Baghdad. The project is located north of Baghdad, near the Tigris River, spanning an area of 40,000 m2.

Approximately 350 AMC employees were involved in the construction of 3 sedimentation basins, storage tanks, a services/chlor building and service housing for engineers.

By the end of 2011, the production capacity of the water treatment facility will pump 7500 cubic m/hr.
